Hi everybody,

My name is David, author of The Homesteading Hippy, a blog about sulf-sufficiency practices in a culture that is rapidly forgetting them. I’m down in Virginia to visit my mother, the Bee Nurse, and got to help her inspect her hives today. Last week, my parents found out that the bees in their top-bar hive had no queen, and merged the workers from that colony with one of their standard hives. Today, we checked out the remaining two hives to see whether the merging had gone well, and to determine the health of these colonies.
